Can I get a 30-day extension and apply for an education visa in Thailand after receiving a warning at immigration?

ORIGINAL POSTERHi All, I was in Thailand for 3 months on a 60 day visa + 30 day extension. Left for a week to Japan. Just arrived back on a visa exemption but was told by immigration that I was getting a warning and if I were to return again in a 3 month period I would be denied entry. Was very surprised given that this is only my 2nd entry.
Question is- my plan had been to do a 30 day extension while doing the paperwork for an education visa. Is that not going to be possible now because of the warning? My intention is to use AAA school, maybe they will be helpful in sorting it out?
I’m 26 and a US citizen.

Extension has nothing to do with entry. You'll have no problems getting a 30 day extension. You better start contacting schools quickly though as the conversion to ED can take over a month between all the things that the school needs to do. Then once all that's done you still need to have 14-21 days left on your stay in order to apply for the ED visa.

get the paperwork sorted ASAP it sometimes takes 6 weeks so you’ll need the time you have remaining on your visa + your extensionLane *******
