Can I forward-date my non-immigrant B Visa application for Thailand, or should I wait until my trip ends to apply?

Urgent question... I will apply for my non immigrant B Visa from my home country (UK). I still have 3 weeks left of my stay here. I was planning on going into London to apply this morning, but can I request that they forward date this Visa to begin in 3 weeks time? Or is it better to apply at the end of my trip?

Thanks for the help.
