Hi everyone, just want to get update on filing TM30. I have never done it myself, but heard that you can file it online yourself if your landlord does not do it for you. Is this still the case as of today (Oct.19, 2026)? TIA.
Answer summary
As of October 19, 2026, you can file the TM30 yourself online if your landlord does not do it. You will need to access the TM30 reporting site and have certain documents ready, such as a copy of the landlord’s ID and the house registration book. Alternatively, some users find it easier to go directly to immigration or stay in a hotel where the TM30 filing will be handled for them.

I do it myself when I re-enter the country but I just go to immigration. I fill out the form and take my lease and passport. Whole process takes about 20 minutes usually.
If the landlord won't do it the aren't going to give you the documents required to do it. Just tell them you will let immigration know they aren't following the law. And as other said go enjoy a nice hotel stay.
