TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether they can complete their 90-day visa requirement by making a border run to Kanchanaburi while holding a Non-O MEV (Multiple Entry Visa). The responses indicate that Kanchanaburi is a viable option, mentioning the ease of entry into Burma with a day pass. Additionally, it highlights that any border crossing is permitted for a border bounce if the user possesses a multi-entry Non-O visa.

The upside at that border in Kanchanaburi is you just buy that day pass for $10USD (or 500baht) and don't need a visa to get into burma

If you want to drive to Yangon the border at Mae Sot/Myawaddy is going to be quicker. The roads in Thailand are a LOT better than in Myanamar. Would be an interesting road trip for sure.

Also bear in mind I believe the road between Myawaddy and Yangon is one way, it alternates direction on alternate days. There might also be hassles, insurance etc. with regard to bringing a Thai car into Myanmar. I suspect the cost of the visa would be the least of your worries.

@Tr***
, The burma consulate just raised their visa prices.. Before you had three options when you bought a visa for burma, same day service, next day service and a couple days later.

Now that they raised the price it's far easier to get the burma E-visa online for $50USD.

Tracy the border near Kanchanaburi is absolutely in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing there whatsoever, not even a town. You need to rent a (reasonably priced- IIRC 900B including the Myanmar visa fee) taxi service even to get to the Myanmar side, it's around 10km away from the Thai border post in a picturesque mountain valley. Kanchanaburi itself is fun though if you have never been there. The border is quite some distance from Kanchanaburi town though.

What constitutes "fun" sort of depends on what you want and where exactly you are but the border at Mae Sot / Myawaddy is relatively near to that one and Mae Sot is a nice town even if you wanted to spend a few days. Mae Sai is sort of the other end of the country so sort of depends where you are and what you want exactly... I mean you could fly to Hong Kong, that's actually pretty cheap and "fun" as well.

Mae sai is fun. Lots to do on both sides. Lots of markets and temples.

If you have a multi-entry Non-O visa, any border crossing should be fine to do a "border bounce".
