TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about changing a visa exemption to a tourist visa while in Thailand. A commenter clarifies that if you're looking to extend your stay for tourism purposes, you can obtain a 30-day extension at a local immigration office, but to acquire a 60-day single entry tourist visa, you must do so outside of Thailand.

I'm not sure what's being asked. If you're asking about getting a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism, you can get that at your local immigration office.

If you are asking about getting a 60 day single entry tourist visa, those can only be acquired outside of Thailand.

If I enter thailand as a tourist without a visa I will get a visa exemption, right? In this case, I will not be able to receive covid extension. Is that correct?

Depends on your nationality. SOME people get 15 day visa on arrivals. MOST people get 30 day visa exempt. SOME people get

/90 day bilateral agreements, and others require a visa before entering. See attached.

IF you are from a visa exempt country, you can get ONE 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. In theory, you should be able to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, IF you apply under the current program AND it's still being sold AND the immigration officer agrees to sell it to you.

hi Sir. I'll just want to ask. If the last stamp was in Cambodia as a tourist 30 days. Then did some multiple covid visa stamp already is it possible that he's eligible to get another covid extension?

you go on over to the immigration office that you use and ask them. No one knows the answer to that question at this time.
