Hi, everyone. I am new to the group. I am interested in relocating to Thailand in the near future and I want to know if I apply for a Visa if I am not residing there as of yet?
Answer summary
A user inquired about applying for a visa to Thailand while not yet residing in the country. Community members responded that visa applications must be made outside of Thailand, ideally within three months of moving. They highlighted that options like a retirement visa are available for those over 50, and suggested the DTV visa with specific requirements. Additionally, it's possible to enter Thailand on a tourist visa and later convert it. Several responses emphasized the need for more information about the user's situation to provide tailored advice.

It depends on lot of things, for example,
You can apply for retirement visa if you are above 50 yrs old.
Otherwise you can go for DTV visa which has a list of requirements.
You can come to Thailand on tourist visa and then convert to other visa category.
Way too little information to provide any really helpful advice. What is you passport nation, are you over 50 years old, how do you propose to pay for your food and accommodation, have you visited here before, do you intend to try and work here, if yes, what are your skills/training - these are just for starters.
