Can a minor traffic offense affect my DTV visa application in Thailand?
Has anyone has their DTV with a criminal record on the police check. I have a driving without due care and attention. Whilst very minor it’s there on my police ACRO check. No imprisonment. Just showing points on license and a fine paid. I had my DTV rejected and I cannot work out if this is the reason why. Thanks

Guessing this will not count. Custodial sentence, Drugs etc. But check with embassy.

I’m surprised your record shows traffic offence, I had 2 speeding offences with points and they are not on my record when I got it.

chooserich007 Don't think bad Farang drivers are abundant in Thailand. (Mostly the Chinese are evidently the worst so far for just about everything.)

I saw someone else post that he was rejected and they did not give him a reason. I know I would keep insisting until I know the reason.

yeah emailed a couple of times and nothing. What caught my surprise one day is they actually answered the phone at the London embassy. Normally they just ignore it.

OPThai_wonder_55 it’s not true hence why I am asking. Nothing previous. And just simply driving without due care and attention. I recently had a DBS check for work and nothing shows on that.

11 years ago would not even show it would just say no live trace Unless you had previous convictions and the drinking conviction restarted the clock for that more serious conviction

Has the traffic record been less or more than 5 years? My speculation is that, if it's a minor offense, it might be waived in their system when the time reaches 5 years. For serious offense, it takes perhaps 20 years. But I am not 100% sure if this is how it's considered.Jo *******

Only the embassy knows the reason and they decide to give you the visa or not

Driving offences are not an issue. It only really matters if you have done over 12 months prison time recently. You can search on google to see how the system works for your specific country, but there all very similar

violence is considered a big no no, I am not expert but from what I have read it can result in rejection and possible blacklist.Take a look at the AI on Google, I had to do some scenarios and got twitchy bum over the answers.
