Hi everyone,

Planning to be there soon. Google tells me I need to walk about 30 minutes from the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel to ICONSIAM. But my guess is that there should be boats to just cross the river in a few minutes, which Google doesn't know. Is this true?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there are several boats available to cross the river from the Royal Orchid Sheraton to ICONSIAM. The hotel itself operates a free shuttle boat service. Additionally, there is a free shuttle boat from the Saphan Taksin BTS station to ICONSIAM. Other options include the orange flag public boats, which also stop at ICONSIAM, but there might be a small fee involved now. The overall consensus is that there are convenient and quick boat options available, making the journey easy.

Yes but unless you time them, it will take longer to wait

Google does show boats, but not if you are checking at a time when they aren’t running (same with the trains and buses). So if your in a different time zone, you might checking after they stop running for the day

Also, make sure your google is updated. I couldn’t map until I updated the app

Orchid Sheraton has its own boat which will take you across for free, also takes you down to the nearest BTS station.

Yes, there are boats. Other than before they don't drop you right at the icon Siam pier, but a few piers north of it. But there's a path to icon Siam and you'll still be there within minutes. They leave pretty much from your accommodation.

It's pretty clear to me that you have to take a boat across the river. The map even shows that.

Yeah just take the ChaoPrya river boats. They all stop there. When you go there, make sure to go to the Thai market on first floor!! Great “street food” vendors etc.

Hi, I have been there before. You can use a free shuttle boat at the pier close to Orchid Sheraton and cross to Icon Siam without paying any money. You will get loss because they opeatare between icon and pier only.

That boat service now charges 6 baht.

I think the boats operate on a time table. I think 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

I'm not sure about Sheraton but Mandarin Oriental and Shangri la have their own boats to drop you and pick you up. There is also a free shuttle boat from under Saphan Taksin BTS station directly to icon Siam and there is an Orange flag boat that stops at icon Siam and makes a stop a bit further up the road.

@Josh ***
The shuttle boat from Saphan Taksin is now run by a private company and costs 10 baht.

Yes a lot of hotels have boats that go across as well as some public ones. The hotel i stayed at Mandarin oriental had their own one. You can ask your hotel once you get there or send them an email.
