Quick report on applying for a non O ( marriage) visa for the first time at the RTC Penang today. We arrived around 8-30am and there were around 20 people queuing outside. Doors opened at 9am and everyone moved to the outside document checking area. I handed over the completed checklist from the website ( attached. Note that it needs to be signed at the bottom) with all copies attached to it. After the staff completed checking documents I moved to inside the building where was given a queue number. I paid the fee RM320. Note I used the application form from the website. No original documents were checked. They had no questions for me or comments and at 9-15am I left with receipt in my hand and advised to collect my passport and visa on Thursday 3pm. Went like clockwork. The only document copy that I handed over that isn’t mentioned on the checklist was a copy of my passport page with the Malaysia entry stamp on it. Note when traveling to Malaysia now you have to complete an MDAC ( Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) online before arrival and print out a copy to hand to the IO.
