TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potential issues traveling to Thailand due to their Indian passport expiring in June 2026, while their travel date is in December 2025, which does not meet the common requirement of at least six months validity. Comments emphasize that airlines often deny boarding for passports with less than six months of validity, despite some claims that Thailand does not strictly enforce this rule. Multiple users recommend renewing the passport before the trip to avoid boarding complications.

IF the airline don't let you board, what's your plan B? Do you have one?

I think you're asking an idiotic question. If you don't understand rules, then try your luck.

you're wrong. Besides, all airlines that I know of insist on the 6 months rule.

I know most airlines will not let you fly without 6 months remaining but you CAN enter Thailand with less than 6 months on your passport, fact, you just cannot be stamped in beyond your passport expiry, obviously. If RTE Delhi will not issue a visa with less than 6 months remaining that is totally different to obtaining an entry stamp at Immigration. ;)

you should actually try it one day and let us know 😅👌

Like what I said in my initial comment, the question itself is idiotic. I've ran this through AI and discovered that even though Thai immigration doesn't explicitly state 6 months minimum, that's still the standard8 they use.

I believe the reason why Thai immigration is tightening the reins is because they are just too many foreigners pissing on Thailand's laws. Would anyone try to even think of doing this when entering the US or Russia?

I'm just saying that I wouldn't do something stupid or reckless but if others want to try it, go ahead. 😂

Yes, because when you fill out the TDAC 72 hours in advance, it will be automatically rejected.

Why do you say it's incorrect? He wouldn't have even given me his DTAC. The passport must meet certain minimum requirements for entry into Thailand.

No they will NOT let U board in many countries

Emergency Buffer: Countries want to ensure you can stay and return home even if emergencies or unexpected delays occur.

Airline Policy: Airlines enforce this to avoid fines for flying passengers who will be denied entry.

What You Need to Do

Check Your Destination: Confirm the specific passport validity rules for every country you visit or transit through (e.g., Bali requires 6 months from your return date).

Contact Your Airline: Verify their policy, as some airlines have stricter rules than the destination country.

Check with Embassies: Consult the foreign embassy or consulate for your destination country.

Use Smartraveller: For Australian citizens, Smartraveller.gov.au (or your country's equivalent travel advisory) is a key resource for entry requirements.

Key Takeaway: Don't risk it! The 6-month rule is a common requirement for many popular destinations and airlines, and not having enough validity can strand you. Renew your passport before travel if it's close to expiring.
