How is the visa exempt 30 days on arrival situation at suvanabumi at the moment? Ant experiences?
I been in my home country in EU for three months and need to go back for about 50-60 days. Thought about just do the 30 days with extension.
Before these three month home at my EU country I was living and working in Thailand for a few years.
What do you guys say? Or better to apply for a SETV ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the current situation for the 30-day visa exemption on arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, seeking insights from others who have traveled recently. They mention having been away from Thailand for three months and are considering a return for 50-60 days. The discussion highlights variability in individual experiences with entry, the possibility of being questioned or denied entry even with appropriate documentation, and considerations for having a single-entry tourist visa (SETV) instead of relying on the visa exemption.
One of the reasons too is to see if anyone experiences that IO ask for onward tickets more on 30 days on arrival then on SETV. I want to book my home ticket to EU while I am in Thailand, 50-60 days. Also one reason I then can't get the SETV.
I have many times before gone on 39 days on arrival without any questions about onward ticket, bit I don't know the usual practices from the IO at the moment.
The company I fly with I know they don't check it!
IF you manage to check in to your flight comin' here on a 30 day visa exempt entry with proof of onward travel longer than 30 days you'll be fine here.
As long as you have onward travel within 60 days they are fine when you stamp in because they know you can get a 30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt entry at passport control
As far as whether you'll skate in without a problem, or get questioned OR get denied entry you're asking a question no one can answer, but I'd say get a single entry tourist visa BEFORE you wing your way here as at least you're showing up with a valid visa and you'd get stamped in for 60 days when you land.
How long is a piece of string?! Have your 3 proofs but no one can say you won't be pulled up, questioned or declined entry, even having a tourist visa is no gaurantee. Someone else's experience may be completely different from your own, it all depends on the individual traveler history, IO and their mood of the day.
