Will I face issues entering my hotel information for a 5-day Sandbox stay on the Thailand Pass application when the website still shows 7 days?

Hello, and thanks for all the help provided thus far. I'm about to enter my information for the Thailand Pass. Since the Sandbox days has been reduced for travelers after December 15, I'll need the 5-day Sandbox program for entry January 8, 2022. On the Thailand Pass application website, the gov't still has not updated their site. It still says 7-day. Question: will it be a problem entering my Hotel information now for 5-days stay when they haven't updated their website? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the Thailand Pass application process for a 5-day Sandbox stay starting January 8, 2022, despite the website still indicating a 7-day requirement. Comments suggest waiting for the official change on December 15, 2021, or proceeding with the application as any issues can be resolved later.

Just apply... The worst they do is reject your application and you can apply again. But they know the date the new regulations go into place and it shouldn't be a problem.

Brandon, I hear you. The problem with just applying is that I have to pay for a hotel in order to apply for the Thai Pass. If I pay for 5 days and then the app gets rejected, I have go through the process of trying to extend my stay. The second problem is that the application site plain states that the confirmation must include the fee for a RT-PCR test and Antigen Self-test Kit. I can't get a hotel to confirm that information.

if you get rejected just wait until after the 16th to apply again, don't extend your hotel because there's no reason to.

Also any package that is sandbox includes the testing, so as long as the confirmation ckeerly states that it's for sandbox, it shouldn't need to also indicate testing is paid for

Thank you very much for your reply

the government decided to not change (reduce) the restrictions due to new variant omnicron. So the sandbox is not reduced !

this is false. They did not switch from PCR to Antigen but they did reduce the sandbox to 5 days starting December 16th.

yes you are right they changed for the type of test. But they didn't confirm to reduce the sandbox days (to 5) in an official report. The actual restriction is the picture of John.

you have it completely mixed up. DID NOT change the type of test, that was cancelled. But they did reduce the times for most of the other methods of entry.

This was already approved by the CCSA.

I'm still trying to confirm with a hotel that my confirmation will include this: "Paid AQ / SHA Extra+ hotel reservation confirmation throughout the 7 days period (including the fee for RT-PCR test and Antigen Self-test Kit)" per the info at the Thailand Pass site.

Please tell me where you read that the days have not been reduced from 7 days to 5 days. Thanks

You need to wait until 15th when it's official or book the 7 days
