Will they accept any PCR test taken within 72hrs before leaving US to Thailand? Does it have to be from a specific place? Any free options out there? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers heading to Thailand need to have an RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their departure from the US. Tests can often be obtained from various locations, including CVS and Clear MD, with some providing free options. It’s crucial to ensure that the test is specifically an RT-PCR test, which stands for Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction, as general PCR tests may not be accepted.

Actually, it's supposed to stand for Reverse Transcription. But that's the danger in acronyms. 😅

Nice, that's who I'm going to be flying with in Dec. Did you also have to show it to the Thai airport on arrival? Assuming that worked as well

PCR is cheap and easy. But thailand makes it more difficult and expensive once again. No reason to ask RT-PCR, PCR is as reliable.
