Just been refused my first non O visa on the basis the 800k has not matured for 60 days prior.

Am i wrong but i was lead to believe or the first non O it didnt have to, only for the non O extension for a year based on retirement.

I was advised by the officer (very arsey) that i need to extend my current tr60 by the allowed 30 days and then get a covid extension (covid extension by 25th july i know)

Edit, Chonburi office

Tr60 runs out 17th july, then apply for extension, so within a week apply for covid extension?.

Does this seem right?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user was refused a Non-O visa due to not having the 800k THB in their account for 60 days prior, despite believing it was not required for initial applications. Other users commented that the requirement applies more strictly for extensions and that there is generally no seasoning requirement for the first Non-O visa. Suggestions include applying for a COVID extension and reapplying for the visa after fulfilling the requirements.

I recommend you using service renewal visa.

I had to use a person to get this done. Mine was a marriage visa but she pulled some strings. I did have to pay 5000 for a covid extension but she was able to get the money thing worked out.

I applied for first time non-0 retirement in Bangkok last year and had the same issue. Was a few days short of having 800K 60 days on my account and my application was rejected. As I would be without stay permit the next day, it was suggested I got a Covid-19 extension (with two weeks "under consideration" first). So I did. Reapplied for Non-O another 2 weeks later (therefore didn't use the entire covid extension). This time succesfully. (But needed 4 visits to immigration within one month!)

NB for extension one year later, the requirements for bank saldo are stricter. Easiest to keep 800K minimum in your account continuously (there is a defined middle period where you can be lower, but never below 400K). All transactions over the entire previous 12 months will be checked (this happened in my case at least).

this isn't the same situation. You are talking about the 1 year extension which has a seasoning requirement while op is talking about the initial 90 visa which does not.

Pay agent tik tok jontien to do for you easy

baht though

They have no qualms at all accepting the agent applications with zero evidence of funds. As long as there is a nice under table payment.

I’m not advocating anyone breaks the rules. I’m advocating that he immigration offices apply them.

Can't you reapply in a different office ? I never had that issue in koh phangan.

@Russell ******
Possible but highly unlikely. Usually one of the requirements is a hand drawn map to your house. If they see it’s in a different province they’ll just say you have to go there - even if you’ve filed a TM30 in theirs.

oh yes , I was forgetting that you would need to move home.

Thanks 🙏

I know, big shame in my eyes. I will carry on trying without funding the spoils of corruption.

I did hear a story that the Chonburi office had a higher manager/director whomtried to stamp out the corruption, and they got rid of him!

There is no seasoning requirement for funds when applying for a in country non O visa based on being over 50. The funds must be shown to have come from overseas.

If the IO is telling you different he’s wrong, but not sure if there’s anything you could do about it other than politely request to see a supervisor.

Which office? Perhaps others with experience of that office may offer insight.
