Hello m from India and my husband is doing job in Bangkok.i have applied for dependant visa but the Royal Thai general consulate mumbai has rejected application for dependent visa and instead just permitting me tourist visa only just for the reason that my husband's work permit is of just 1year if they can extend work permit for 2yrs then only they can grant dependant visa otherwise I m asked to stay in India only.so plz let me know is this strict law or just misguiding without any reason.so plz guide me what should I do in this situation.?Am I the first one to face this complication or other indians are also facing same problem in thailand for dependant visa ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user from India is experiencing issues with obtaining a dependent visa for Thailand after receiving a rejection based on their husband's work permit duration. The consulate indicated that the dependent visa can only be granted if the husband’s work permit is extended to two years. The user seeks clarification on whether this is a strict regulation or misinformation, and if other Indians face similar issues with dependent visas in Thailand.

By the time you apply for visa, your husband's work permit and visa must be valid atleast for the next 90 days.

Just enter on a tourist visa. If your husband is working legally here and meets all requirements, you can change it to a dependant visa inside Thailand.

. Like any other visa issue... you go to immigration office.

Same answer as your last post about getting an extension.

How can I change tourist visa into dependant visa in thailand?what are it's requirement and procedure?

Someone is telling you wrong information. Work visas and work permits are for a maximum one year anyway. Renewals and extensions are also maximum one year.

Or you are confused about the reason your visa was denied.
