TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for an extension of your 30-day tourist stamp in Thailand when you have 30 days or less on your visa. However, in Koh Samui and Pattaya, applications can only be made when there is one week or less remaining. The application must be done in person at an immigration office, as there is no fully online extension process available, although some parts of the process may be facilitated online.
Usually mid-way through the 30 days you can, and you need to show up in person. The extra 30 days will start counting after the first 30 days expire. So if your original 30 days expire June 14 and you go tomorrow, you will be stamped until roughly July 13.
