DTV Soft Power (Cooking) Approved - 2nd Attempt
Vientiane Embassy
Australian Passport
19/5 - Applied
20/5 - Paid in cash at embassy in the morning
23/5 (Saturday) - Approved and received evisa by email
Processing time: 4 working days
Soft Power Activity: Arun Thai Cooking 6 month course
Submitted all the required documents including:
- 3 month Australian bank account Transfer History showing a balance consistently over 500k THB equivalent (February 19 - May 19, ie the same day I submitted the application)
- A letter explaining my intention to join the cooking course, comply with all visa rules and regulations and not seek employment, and some photos of me cooking
My first DTV application was in Manila late February, another soft power application which took about 2 weeks. After submitting more supporting documents when asked, it was eventually rejected because my 500k balance did not meet the 3 month requirement.
Thanks to all of the posters here and Arun Thai Cooking School for informing this whole process and good luck to everyone applying next.
