Hello!

I have a Canadian passport and am currently here on an Ed visa that expires on the 30th of December. I am planning on leaving the country by early January and wanted to know what are the steps I need to take to be able to stay legally within the country until my flight.

Thanks in advance for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your stay legally in Thailand on an Ed visa until your flight in early January, you need to apply for a 60-day extension of stay due to COVID-19. This costs 1,900 THB and you should prepare necessary documents, which may include your passport data page, departure card, ED visa copy, latest visa stamp, TM30 printout, and 2 passport photos. Check your local immigration office for specific forms and requirements.

After you are finished studying, you will apply for a 60 day extension of stay because you can't travel due to COVID-19. This extension of stay costs 1,900 THB.

If you're in Bangkok, the forms are located in the "Files" section, and are the STM2 and Overstay .pdf and Covid Extension Request 2pgz.pdf. If you are not in Bangkok, the local immigration office may want you to use their local forms.

You *MAY* also need a copy of:

1. Your passport data ("photo") page

2. A copy of your departure card (usually stapled in your passport)

3. A copy of your ED visa

4. A copy of your most recent visa stamp.

5. Your TM30 printout.

6. 2x Passport photos

However, different immigration offices may require different documents
