TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on renewing their parents' retirement visa in Thailand as their father suffers from severe medical issues after a road accident. Commenters suggest obtaining a medical extension based on serious health conditions and provide information on necessary documentation, including letters from hospitals and possibly a power of attorney for handling immigration matters on behalf of the parents.

It is printed ON the new TM.7 application for extension form that you can get extensions for people IF they can't get there. I think you shouldn't have a problem getting the extension for them BUT you might need a power of attorney form stating you are authorized by them to do it for them

The options are, get a letter from the doctor and get a medical extension of stay (up to 90 days) and then have him go get his extension based on retirement, OR get the letter from the doctor and go get the yearly extension.

You should go out to the immigration office BEFORE the extension expires to find out exactly what's required for you to get the yearly extension for them.

If your parents has the letter from the Hospital they can request for an Extension of Stay based on Medical reasons.

Then go to the immigration office and see what else might be required to get the extension BEFORE it expires

Have all documents from hospital already

Need a doctors certificate stating that patient is to sick to walk or travel to immigration. Then you can do it for him. Or look at the possibility of a medical Visa.
