Yes, you can enter your passport details manually in the THIM App Thailand if the camera scan does not work. I did this and absolutely fibe. All attached to passports and didn't even ask for qr codes.

My genuine passport photo was rejected and they requested I take a selfie of head and top of shoulders in front of white background. Exactly the same as my passport photo lol!

My passport gets a good regular workout in travel each year.
It took me 3 or 4 goes to get chip recognized for THIM to recognize it.

I had loads of problems. It kept complaining my face was obscured by the laminate watermark mark in my uk passport. I tried many times one day without success, then next worked first time. Bizarre.

Go outside in a shaded place, rest your phone on a jar or small box to keep it stable.

David Grant I had the same problem, the version of the app that I had on my phone wasn't updated automatically for some reason. So the solution was to delete my account then uninstall the app reinstall the app and sign up for the account all over again from the beginning and everything went smoothly.

I find the size of the documents they require are much smaller than the actual size of the documents. I have trying to downside them has been a big issue. I find it very frustrating.

Do you have the right app? Be careful of some dodgy webistes, you put all your info in first then they ask for money. These are not real sites. Only use the ones confirmed as being the correct thai government approved app, or you have just given all your detials to scammers

I’ve found that it’s easier to photograph passports in natural light, i.e. outdoors in a shaded location

I get a passport photo taken at my local drugstore. I also use these photos for SETV, International DL and future extension in Thailand. I scan the photo for uploading, so still have for other uses.

I have a Dutch passport and wonder what standard size is required for the separate passport photo for the single entry visa , also colour or black and white ?
Also , do they really require a 3 month bank statement for a single entry visa ?
I have organized all other requirements, just need to get the bank statements if indeed necessary

If you're taking the photo from within the app it's imperative that there is no glare. It you take the photo outside you'll have sufficient light and minimal glare/reflection.

Michael Vincent it to with how the photo is lit as these passport have a security layer to stop them being photocopied properly.. Took be a few goes to get it lit right
