What would be the best long term visa options (excluding elite visa) for a Swedish family of 3 ( mother+father+3 year old child) where the parents are not married and in their 30’s? They would not be working while in Thailand.
Also, would it be possible to arrive on a visa exempt status and convert it to another visa while in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Swedish family of three, where the parents are unmarried and not working, is looking for long-term visa options for staying in Thailand. The discussion highlights that arriving on a visa exempt status allows for conversion to another visa, although options are limited due to their age. Possible visa types include an education visa for the child, or an LTR visa, but concerns arise over the lack of marriage which affects availability of dependent visas. Each parent will need their own visa since they cannot rely on spouse options.
LONG TERM RESIDENT (LTR) VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Being that you are not married you will both need your own visa. You can not use any spouse/dependant option as you are not legally a couple under Thai regulations. You will be treated as two separate individuals, with no connection at all. If you were married it would be different. One of you could buy an Elite visa, and the other could piggy back on that, but as you are not married both of you will have to buy your own visa.
The idea is to buy property in Thailand and the necessary funds for the other criteria are there, however they're in crypto and i don't know if that's an accepted asset for an LTR visa.
No idea the amount you of crypto you are referring to but the Elite may be the better option if money isn’t really an object. Hassle free entry for you and your family for up to 20 years. It’s certainly not cheap but it may suit your needs.
Don’t know much about LTR and the different criteria, but I’d almost certainly say crypto wouldn’t count. I’ll let others with more experience advise if it is.
