So I'm from the UK, and have a question for all the expat OAP's who are on 20 tablets a day like myself? What's the process for prescription meds? Do I need to visit a hospital with my medical history and get it OK'd by a doc first, or can I just stagger out of Soi Cowboy into the nearest pharmacy, no questions asked? Tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of obtaining prescription medications in Thailand varies based on the specific medication needed. Expats may not be able to get all prescribed medications directly from pharmacies. Visiting a local hospital to consult with a doctor who can review medical history and possibly prescribe the necessary medication is advisable. Alternatively, pharmacies can offer guidance on how to access required medications.
