Just returned from the Thai Embassy in Laos to get a new 3 month Non-Imm O Visa based on raising my 1/2 Thai/ 1/2 English son, using the new appointment system they have started using. I am very happy to report everything went as smooth as possible, as opposed to the last time I went 5 months ago when I was app #380+ out of over 400 people there, this time I was #22 out of 200 app spaces, the Embassy was like a ghost town & there were only 3 other farang's milling about during my time there, I was out within 10 minutes & booked into my hotel by 10:30am, I really didn't know what to do with myself because I had so much spare time on hand. And for those worried about getting a printout of your confirmed appointment time, you need not worry any more, I tested the theory that they would accept a photo taken on your phone from the appointment web page & it worked just fine (I had the printout as a backup just in case ;-) )
