My husband applied as my dependent in Vientiane last month. It was much easier and quicker than we had expected. Submitted on a Sunday, paid on Monday morning, got approved Tuesday night. No interview.

I got mine back in September in Yangon. It was not an online system back then but it also took only two days.

I wasn’t sure if the requirement was for $15,000 equivalent per family or per dependent (it seems to vary based on the embassy location) so just to be safe, I tried to show a balance over $30,000. I had him submit 3 months of statements from my bank account. While I was over the $30,000 threshold only for the last month, the balance was still way over $15,000 for the previous 2 months. I also gave my 3 months pay slips, wrote a sponsorship letter, and provided our marriage certificate.
