Hello I stopped into Jomtien Immigration and spoke to the IO behind the extension desk to inquire about my O-A visa I was told to renew I would need to be insured by one of 12 companies that were on the handout, when asked about border bounce to get my second year he said he did not know if I needed insurance for that So Iwent on to ask can I change back to a non-o and extend that way and he said yes go out and get a non-o and extend based on retirement he said much better for me as insurance is very expensive and not to good .Now just waiting for someone to exit and enter on an O-A to see what's up as I have a lot of time left on mine ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience at Jomtien Immigration regarding the renewal of their O-A visa. They were informed that to renew, they must be insured by one of 12 approved companies. When inquiring about border bouncing for the second year, the immigration officer was uncertain about the insurance requirement for that process. The user also learned they could switch to a Non-O visa and extend it based on retirement, which may be more advantageous due to high insurance costs. Other commenters echoed concerns about the clarity of immigration policies and shared their experiences as they awaited more information on O-A visa regulations.

And as we await reports from returning O-A visa holders...I close commenting.

Thank you for sharing your Jomtien experience.

pretty much what people have been reporting. The immigration officers at the offices don't know what will be asked for when you bounce out and back in to get the second year out of that O-A because they are NOT border control officers at the borders..

He at least got the part right that IF you wanted to avoid the insurance requirement you could leave the country, get a 90 day non-o, then extend that for a year. That'd get you out of needing insurance.

Thanx for the update.. (y)

Hopefully we'll start hearing more about what's really going on here soon, I mean the rule has been in effect only 6 days now..
