What is the current status of visa applications at the DTV soft power in HCMC for May 2025?
Update: Just approved now!! May 8th
DTV soft power application HCMC: I applied on 4/22 and within a few hours, it went to pending approval. I know there are two holidays this week. I have my anticipated arrival date at May 17th. Just curious if anyone else applied around this date and has been approved.

I've been in Thailand for three years now. Started with 3 month visa, extensions, then a one-year student visa, then another tourist visa. Last year 3 (!) border runs, this year 2 more.
This time, the IO looked at my passport a little more closely, but didn't say anything, just gave me a slightly annoyed look.
Gave me another 60 days.

OPI am still in Vietnam. I’ve already spent 90 days in Thailand this year (I did not overstay my visa), so I can not return until I get a visa.
Anonymous ******************
Are you still in HCMC?
I returned to Thailand last week. I'll do a border run when it's finally confirmed.

HCMC doesnt seem very efficient compared to Hanoi or some of the other embassies. I have also seen it suggested that they may process applications based on departure date from Vietnam rather than when applications are recieved, so you may be de-prioritised if you allowed a long time for the processing

@Steve ****
Just speculation here. HCMC is a Consulate while Hanoi is an Embassy. I wonder if Hanoi has final say on HCMC processes ie final sign off?Anonymous ******************
@Steve ****
i already crossed my departure date :(Lilli ********

OPAnonymous participant 861 I am also surprised it has taken so long. I decided to go ahead and cancel my accommodations, as my travel date is approaching and I’m concerned I won’t have a visa yet.
