TLDR : Answer Summary
This post seeks feedback on experiences with applying for COVID visa extensions in Hat Yai, Thailand. Several comments include past experiences from individuals who successfully obtained extensions without issues, although there are concerns about increased scrutiny in the application process after November 2021. There is also advice to connect with local expat groups for more insights.

I had 3 covid extensions in Hat Yai last year with no questions asked. However, I have since switched to a 12 month retirement extension and have not had to approach them for another one since they highlighted that it would become more stringent for approval(from the end of November 2021). I am not sure if the Hat Yai office has become stricter on issuing these since 3 extensions i received last year. The only way to find out is to approach them and see what type of outcome you get.

A LOT of peoples' experiences is going to come down to how long you've been IN thailand on covid extensions.
I'd say post on a f/b group related to southern thailand. BUT let's see if anyone on here will have info for you
it actually does matter. Each immigration office has their own polices, their own rules, and there own strictness. Some require proof of flight out (like Bangkok) while others are much easier
There is only one possibility! That is, to try. ๐ I had the same worries, ๐ฅบ about it. when I applied for my second Covid-19 extension. But that was no problem at all. ๐ฅฐ
then it's pretty much going to be up to the officer as far as IF you'll get another one or not. The regulations about this current 60 day covid extension program specifically said they will be more strict in issuing them.
Some offices want you to have proof you're flying out in the next 60 days.
Good luck with it (y) Find a southern thailand f/b group and post on it
