TLDR : Answer Summary
For depositing USD and making international transfers in Thailand, Bangkok Bank and Krungsri Bank are recommended options. Bangkok Bank can be paired with Wise for efficient money transfers while Krungsri offers a savings account with a higher interest rate. Charles Schwab Bank is noted for reimbursing ATM fees. It's crucial to consider the fees associated with international transfers, especially when using SWIFT, and compare rates between Thai and US banks.

Check rates for Thai and overseas bank. I found it better to xfer $AUD and convert in Thailand rather than use the NAB default settings of convert with them.

Bangkok Bank can be used with Wise to transfer monthly amounts with documentation of overseas transfer to satisfy immigration requirements for long-term extensions of stay. Krungsri Bank has a Mee Tae Dai Savings Account with slightly higher interest rate than other savings accounts, interest earned daily and paid monthly. Charles Schwab Bank reimburses you for the 220 baht ATM withdrawal fee. Those are some good banks. Generally, you're looking for the lowest fees for the things you're planning to do. If you're going to use SWIFT to transfer money to Thailand look for an American bank that will give you the lowest SWIFT transfer fee.
