Hi,

I am in the process of getting documents prepared for a Tourist Visa in Kota Bharu. One document/"thing" i am not sure about is a "letter of guarantee". What is letter of guarantee? I didnt see where it was specific in from who or what. Is this something issued regarding my bank (Kasikorn) or is it something to do with rental agreement as well. I have never heard of a "letter of guarantee" from a rental place...but i wanted to make sure i am well prepared for all scenarios. Thanks

Answer summary

A 'letter of guarantee' is not required for a Tourist Visa application in Thailand. It is often mentioned in various visa requirements but typically does not apply for short-term tourist visas. Users inquiring about this aspect received confirmation that they can leave that section blank on the visa application form.

The visa application form is a standard form used for all kind of visa's. You fill in the parts needed for your type of choice of the visa. You do not need a letter of guarantee if you apply for a tourist visa, make sure you read and sign this small box on the form
