What does 'last port of embarkation' mean when applying for a Thai visa from Sri Lanka?

The last city you boarded before your flight lands in Thailand.

I don't have the form in front of me, but I guess it refers to your last port of embarkation when traveling to Thailand with your newly issued visa.

Can we somehow stay in touch as I wanted to also apply from Colombo but found the embassy there unresponsive to my emails and phone calls.

I would love to know your experience there and what if any additional paperwork was requested.
