I have been reading the group for a while and if I have missed similar post in the past I'm sorry.

I'm a consultant for a company at the moment in Europe. For me to apply and move to Thailand I need to become subcontractor for my current employer.

I met the financial requirements right now but I haven't sorted out my work situation yet. No criminal records etc.

I have planned to apply for the visa (workcation) beginning of next year.

If I start my own company and start sub-contracting for my current employer what documents should I provide in the application? I have read that many have provided "portfolio" of their work. What does that actually contain?

Documents of proofing the company exists, current contracts, proof to work where ever etc

I would basically continue the same work that I currently do for our customers.

Itse en laittaisi mitään ylimääräistä. Pyytävät lisätietoja halutessaan. Ei ole tähän mennessä tullut vielä yhtään hylkyä itselle, kerran lisätietoja. Mulla menossa hakuun marraskuun alussa firmani kautta dtv. Ajattelin laittaa toimarin tekemään todistuksen, jotta teen verkon yli yritykselle töitä, kun tuntuisi typerältä kirjoittaa itselle todistusta. Viimeksi katsoessani, Helsingin lähetystö vaatii vain 1 kk tiliotteen 500 000 omalta henkilökohtaisella käyttötilillä, osakkeet yms ei kelpaa. Lisäksi työnteko todistus ja rikosrekisteriote (6€, saa suoraan tilattua myös englanniksi).

Exactly what you said plus I would add a cover letter showing the longer history and explaining the context changes along with usually no Thai clients or work

From my experience, these cover letter aren't read. They clearly ignored my cover letter in the pdf

Probably depends on Embassy and who is reviewing. Last year I went to 2 TAT presentations in Chiang Mai about DTV. It was said as English often 2nd language of many of the local hires they often did not understand everything submitted. Said they would often ask for more documents just so they did not have to deal with it. Hoping someone else got it next time :-)
