Hello, A few days ago Thailand announced new requirements in order to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa, asking for proof of permanent residency.

I'm supposed to send my application in a few days at the Thai Embassy in Paris. On their website they say tax return filling in parenthesis is an accepted document. However i still haven't received this document yet as i was a non resident before and i have no idea when i'm gonna receive it.

So my question is : Do you have any information about potential other documents accepted as a proof of permanent residence at the Thai embassy in Paris please ?

Maybe some of you who read that topic already contacted the Paris Embassy or immigration lawyers and got some information about that topic. So if you got some information, can you share it to me please ? so it can be clear ! I've contacted the embassy as well but i have no idea when they answer so i hope for answers here please !

Thanks very much and have a nice day !

Your Carte de Séjour (alien resident card) will be fine to use. Failing that, your long stay visa could work if it covers sufficient duration and you don't have titre.

Steve Kelly Photos It does say permanent residency, not some sort of temporary residency visa. So it means being French or a permanent resident.

Don't you file a tax return rather than wait to receive one?

I wonder if you could get away with showing what you filed rather than waiting for that?

You are new in France ? Be careful because they are going to interview you in French language. As a permanent resident in France you are supposed to speak the language at a basic level.

Khun Chakrit Surely you could insist on Thai (if you can speak it) or English. I can't imagine the Thai staff would be good at any other languages.

RadiantCamel1017 you think Thai staff working in Paris will not be able to speak French? 555

Steve Kelly Photos Not something I'd expect. As a fluent Thai speaker, I'd obviously speak to them in Thai; French is useless in Thailand after all and generally speaking, when it comes to diplomatic staff, I'd use their language (if I'm able to speak it) or English rather than expecting them to speak the language of the country they're in, especially when they are only there for a few years.

After all, from my understanding, if you go to a Thai consular office almost anywhere in Asia, while there may be some local staff, the majority of Thai staff speak Thai plus English, not the local language.

RadiantCamel1017 I needed a long stay visa for France that I got from the French embassy in Bangkok and the Thai staff spoke perfect French, way better than mine.

Steve Kelly Photos Not necessarily. If Thai staff in Vietnam can't speak Vietnamese, it doesn't mean that they can speak French when in France. Moreover, how many French people moving to Thailand can't speak either English or Thai?

A driver's License or other government issue document with your address on it or a Utility bill might work.

Bob Wolf I hope so. i've contacted the embassy but the delay to get an answer is very variable. a few weeks ago they've answered in only a few hours and for a second mail 3 weeks in and no answer so far.

You don't need that level of proof until Monday

Graham Seal And how he should apply for the DTV? There are already reports that the e-visa website is not properly working.

It was announced that the website will be down.
