TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) inquires about requirements for a re-entry permit when leaving Thailand for a couple of weeks, specifically as a trailing spouse on a NON-O extension. It is confirmed that obtaining a re-entry permit before leaving is necessary to maintain their remaining time on their visa. The re-entry permit service at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport is indeed open 24/7, and the fee is 1200 Thai baht for the service that includes assistance with the application process.

"The easiest is going to international departure gate 2, there is a re-entry permit counter as the photo shows, before passport control, on the same floor (this photo was taken on 31 January 2024)"

IF you get a re-entry permit BEFORE you leave Thailand, you will be stamped in for the remaining time you now have in your one year extension of stay as TRAILING SPOUSE.

YES, the re-entry permit desk is Open 24 hours at the BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok.

Fee is 1200 Thai baht if you have the desk staff member complete the permit forum and take your photo.

IF the re-entry permit desk is NOT manned, Just Ask a Thai Immigration Officer and they will open it up for you.

Arrival to check-in at the airport is recommended 3 hours before flight time.
