ORIGINAL POSTERI just visited my dentist here in Thailand to ask for the documents required for the DTV visa. They scheduled appointments for a 6-month treatment plan but didn’t ask me to pay anything upfront. Is that normal? I even asked if I could pay something in advance 😂.
The staff told me I could pay whatever amount I wanted 😂. How much would it be reasonable to pay upfront in this situation?

Appointment slips are no good you need a medical certificate and on headed paper stamped and singed I know ow because it's how I got my DTV..

you are right, they ask to pay up front for Muay Thai classes, but you never know if it was accepted based on this. Anyway, medical treatment is different from Muay Thai classes.Reply to

I applied through medical dental treatment. I was told by the embassy in advance to show a treatment plan and a medical certificate outlining the reason for the treatment. I had a pre-appointment (and gave them that old appointment slip) but I had not paid anything up front.

Yes, so I still think that soft power is easier, because you only have the 500K requirement and that's all. Of course a letter and clinic schedule etc, but less paper work than workation (easier for sure if you are already living in Thailand and you have a dentist here )Reply to

I have never paid anything upfront for dental appointments in Thailand - paid after the treatment. Same as follow up treatment from hospitals after an Op. PAYG.

Anonymous participant Not unusual to pay post treatment. I had extensive root canal treatment over 7 months in Bangkok and only paid after each visit. Each time they said next visit such and such will happen and the cost.

You don't need to pay for an appointment. You pay when you have the treatments. Thai embassy only need the treatment plan for DTV. Decency is when you go back and actually get the treatments.is post here anonymous actually decency 🤣🤣🤣🤣
