TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a residence visa in Thailand, it's recommended to explore various options available through your local Thai Embassy website. There are specific types of visas like the Long-term Residency (LTR) visa and Elite visa, which can provide extended stays of 5 to 10 years. If you’re considering retirement, be aware that the retirement visa requires applicants to be at least 50 years old. It's also important to ensure you have sufficient funds and patience for the application process.
LONG TERM RESIDENT (LTR) VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Take a breath and eat a Snickers bar, Todd. I told you I thought you were telling him about the wealthy pensioner LTR, which requires you to be 50, so my input was relevant. We had a misunderstanding. No reason for being so snarky.
I thought I read it right. “LTR (long term residency) visa is your answer”. Well, it’s not his best answer if talking about the wealthy pensioner LTR, which you didn’t specify which LTR you were recommending. So I don’t think anyone needs any blame here. But if there must be blame, color me guilty. 🤷🏼♂️
ok at the moment if not working here or have family your only other longer term is the privilege visas or the dtv. Have a look on the evisa site as its got a lot of base information
