Probably been asked before but looking for current info
Wisdom on first time renewing retirement visa;
I've been depositing more than the 65k every month.
Does my balance also have to be 800k?
Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the requirements for renewing a retirement visa in Thailand. Specifically, they are unsure if they need to maintain an 800,000 THB balance, as they have been depositing over 65,000 THB monthly. Comments indicate that for first-time renewals, a full year of transfers may suffice without needing the 800k balance, and some users suggest having an income affidavit from their embassy could be beneficial.

by 1st renewal do you mean you have already had a 12 month extension of stay and you will be applying for a 2nd 12 month extension of stay? (It's a new application each time not a renewal)
quick question. 15 months implies you got your visa via an agent in which case did they supply the funds or did you put the money in the bank and adhere to the financial requirements?

The first time I foolishly used an agent even though had the money.
there are agents and there are agents. What's important is that you can show that you met the requirements of the first 12 months extension of stay. That is you had 800k baht in a bank account in your name for 3 months from the point you were granted the extension and at no point in the 12 months dropped below 400k baht. If you don't meet this you are at serious risk of being denied a further extension and if so would have to start over by leaving Thailand to get a fresh 90 day Non-O visa
Do you have a full 12 months of 65k transfers each month from overseas? If so you shouldn't need the 800k. But if you come from a country whose embassy provides an income affidavit they may want to see that and possibly proof of your income

Thanks for your reply, yes i work in Saudi Arabia on rotation and transfer funds from either my Saudi bank account or through wise but all the funds come from overseas.
just one more point you do need to honour the terms of your previous extension of stay so will need a minimum of 400k baht in your account to get the next extension
