What are the requirements for applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand?
Hiya I’m looking for some advice regarding applying for a DTV
My understanding was If I had a remote job in the uk with a contract that says it’s a remote role I thought that would be ok to apply for a DTV
However I’ve recently seen that you also need a letter from your workplace that states they are happy for you to work in Thailand. Which if this is the case I’m not sure many employers would do this.
Any help would be appreciated in obtaining this DTV thank you

You need a lot more than that, you can only apply in your country of residency so ask the Embassy of a list of requirements

Yep, in fact my contract specifically states not only I can work from Thailand but also I will not provide services to any Thai clients. If they really want you they will put whatever you ask in your contract.

I am from the UK and I work remotely for a UK company under a freelance contractor basis. I included a work contract but did not include a letter from the company. However, I stated in my cover letter than I am able to work from anywhere and I understand work for Thai people or companies is not allowed and I would not undertake such work. Give me a shout if you would like any help, I spent months researching and putting together a solid application and was approved without any further documents requested.

You have no job, obviously you can't have applied via the workcation route. Sounds as if you're finding reasons to bash DTV applications in general and workcation in particular (for a change).

My employer put it in my contract. Workplace: anywhere in the world. That's it.

I need to find one of those roles im trying really hard to find a remote role but even then the contracts just say work from home and dont say work anywhere in the world,

TenderFox7220 it's ok if the contract says work from home. You submit a letter from your manager/HR permitting you to work in Thailand remotely and that you won't work for any Thai companies/clients.

yes you might need to be careful. In our case my husbands company put explicitly in his contract he can work from anywhere in the world, but my company would not allow it because of their workers compensation insurance (Australia) so sadly I had to resign so we could come hereAndi ***********
TenderFox7220 You can find 1000s of posts from UK applicants approved by their employer to work in Thailand on the DTV Inc myself. Are you freelancing? As someone mentioned they produced their own letter, that's an option.
