It sounds like you are not yet in Thailand so I'd strongly suggest you get the visa before you arrive. If you enter Thailand visa exempt or with a tourist visa you won't be able to open a Thai bank account. If you enter with the correct visa you should be able to do so
correct applying for Education Visas for my daughters through the school from the UK. My understanding is once I arrive I need to transfer 500,000 tb into a Thai bank account within the first 90 days so looking for recommendations on banks 🙂
ah yes, that's for the extension of stay rather than the visa itself. Kasikorn has a good name, as does SCB. If you will use Wise to transfer funds to Thailand these 2, along with Bangkok Bank have the highest transfer limits
Okay I'm guessing you are not currently in Thailand
Enrol the child in school, the school will provide all the necessary documents and requirements for you to apply for a Non O ED visa for the child. Once approved you yourself will need to apply for Non O guardian, Once that is sorted Prepare requirements for Bank account Sim card, residence certificate etc.
Most banks are quite helpful except for Bangkok bank.
