What are the re-entry risks for the DTV Soft Power visa if I don’t follow my training plan?

Hello everyone,

Hello 👋

I’m currently preparing my application for the DTV Soft Power visa with a Muay Thai school. The school told me that my profile could be considered “high risk” for rejection because they can only issue a 6-month training program, and immigration authorities assess the credibility and consistency of the applicant’s plan. They also mentioned that while it’s technically possible to leave Thailand earlier than planned, it would be at my own risk and not recommended.

The thing is, my plan is not to stay continuously. I’d like to come and go, staying 2 to 4 months at a time over the 5-year period.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Could I run into issues when re-entering Thailand if I don’t follow the initial training plan strictly?

Also, do you know of any more flexible schools — especially in Koh Samui — that are used to this kind of setup?

Thanks a lot for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for the DTV Soft Power visa linked to a Muay Thai school but is concerned about their 'high risk' profile due to the school's 6-month training program. They plan to come and go within Thailand over a 5-year period and are worried about potential issues with re-entering if they don't strictly follow the training plan. The response suggests flexibility in attendance is allowed but mentions the possibility of exploring a workcation visa as an alternative.

You can come and go as you please with the DTV. Attendance is not monitored. In terms of value for money, you would be better off with a flex schedule which matches your stay. Plenty of schools offer that but I don't know about in Koh Samui.
