What are the financial and work limitations for the DTV visa in Thailand?

Hi all!

We are a small family looking at relocating to Thailand in the near future. Based on the research we've done, the DTV seems the most suitable option for myself and my family.

I have some questions, maybe I overlooked it, but I hope you guys can help...

1. The 500,000 baht requirement, is this on savings only OR can you meet the requirement will suitable monthly income?

2. Is the funds requirement different when sponsoring your wife and family?

3. If she will earn a little herself, will this also be taken into consideration or only my income, as the sponsor?

4. I know this is for remote work and I can't work in Thailand, does this prevent me from selling my services within Thailand or potentially expanding my business within Thailand? What about meetings and other opportunities that can help elevate the company considering we have a market in Asia?

The financial stuff Mr Stanners knows. As for the work stuff, no. The "remote work" stuff is designed for say a tech job in the US or something along those lines. If you do ANYTHING within Thailand and are caught or found out its a big no no. Outside of Thailand that is different.

Depending where you apply you may need 500k baht for each applicant or you may be able to use sponsorship letters for the kids. You will need to show your income details, invoices, receipts etc to support your workation application but that doesn't get round the 500k baht requirement. If your wife will also work she will need to also apply under the Workation option, not as your dependant. You'll also need to include a letter from your company stating that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand. While you can have a market in other Asian countries you can't have one in Thailand

No for 1. Yes for 2. You need multiples of the bt500k. 3 it doesn't matter. 4 no you can not do any work inside Thailand. Remote work only. You can't find clients inside Thailand.
