Can anyone provide advice on importing goods and personal effects with a DTV Visa?
What were you able to get duty exemptions on?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When importing goods and personal effects with a DTV Visa in Thailand, duty exemptions are generally not available. Duty exemptions are typically applicable only under strict conditions when holding a work permit. While there might be a possibility of getting lucky with low-value shipments, it is not a guaranteed rule. It's advisable to consult various expat groups for insights into the risks and potential costs involved.
You can't get duty exemptions on a DTV. Exemption is only in one very specific case with strict conditions when holding a work permit. You may get lucky on low value shipments but it's not a rule... Feel free to search other expats groups and see how risky and expensive it could be.

Again funny it's not under tourist visa anywhere you look
no it doesn't, it lists the various visa options by category. The DTV is in its own category. It was defined as a Special Tourist Visa is the official announcement of its availability in the Royal Gazette where all government regulations are published

John Stannersagain no where on any thai gov site does it say this and shows it under non immigrant argue of youd like
maybe because it's not a newspaper, it's a record of all official government announcements. Nothing they announce becomes legal until it has first been published in the Royal Gazette
The Royal Gazette is the ONLY official source, and the ONLY one that matters. It's immaterial what others list it as. There's a very good reason you can only stay a maximum of 360 days at a time with it (180+180 extension) then have to leave the country, you also aren't entitled to the benefits of a non-immigrant stamp such as 5 year driving licence etc.

Yall wanna keep saying it's s tourist visa yet the fact that it is π― not under tourist visa on the official site seems to disagree with this statement π€·ββοΈ
It's under non immigrant visa not tourist visa π
The value was low enough not to be taxed. Your DTV doesnβt grant you any duty exemption benefits, just like most visas, including non-immigrant visas. You canβt simply decide to bring a container or large boxes and expect to be tax-exempt. Feel free to check customs laws...
