As a heads up, the new direct flight from Vancouver to Bangkok is listed as 15 hours and 50 minutes flying time. Personally, I would only fly this on an upgrade to Premium Economy.

Interesting, as I read some of the comments to my post, I realized what the "And Everything Else" meant.

I always go SFO to TPE to Bangkok. Stop in. TPE several hours. Check into lounge. $50. Shower. Change clothes. Rest. Makes the trip much easier

I’ve been to bkk 20 times from Vancouver. Cathay was my fave but then they got up to 1300-1400. Then Eva was very good with normal price 1150-1250 with good connections. Now that all the china airlines have yet to fly out of Vancouver the prices were great a couple months ago( went ac through narita to bkk) for 1000$ now Eva is offering 1700 in October and AC is 1799. I hate ac but for non stop and no other airlines come down I’ll be all over the nonstop.

I booked this flight for my son and girlfriend. - Dec 18. They are young so they’ll survive but I agree - premium economy at the very very minimum for me 🤷🏽♀️😎
Happy about the red eye tho - they’ll be tired and easier to sleep and early morning arrival in BKK so easy to transit to final destination.
I wish I could be that kind LOL!! But I booked them economy seats - like I said, they are young 😂FOR ME - I would book business for sure. :)

I only nap on flights. Never can fully sleep. So I prefer departures around noon. That 23:00 departure time would hurt me. 😅

I live in the Midwest of the US, try 30 hours and another 6-8 to get to Isan territory. I love the country side and my love.

I'll keep that in mind next time I decide to reside in an igloo. Who the heck lives in Canada under Trudeau anyway?

Paul De Graaf It's not categorically communist, no. But it's heading that way. Journalists were arrested during the pandemic. So whilst not as bad as China, for a western nation it's pretty much the worst of the worst. Your comments are coming from a place of cowardice and compliance. A weak excuse of a human being.

Looks like it starts December 1st, departure at 23:00

It starts in December or January. The departure time is what I don't like. About midnight from YVR.

An earlier flight means I won't be exhausted when arriving, and I can sleep at normal BKK time.

I don't really sleep on planes, so I would be exhausted when I get to BKK. Then that means I'd be awake until my hotel room is available, and my body clock would be screwed for 3 or 4 days.
Ive gone to Finland, Doha, and Tokyo ... ANA - Tokyo was my favorite of those

So you would rather take the standard change planes at least once after crossing the Pacific, and getting to Bangkok after about 20 hours on a good connection, as high as 30 hours on a bad connection. Given the alternatives just under 16 hours is great. When the seatbelt light is off there is nothing saying you can't get up and walk around to stretch your legs. Or, you can opt for the extra 4+ hours so you get that change planes stopover to stretch your legs changing planes.
