METV Application – Thai Embassy London (Financial Requirements)

Has anyone recently applied for and successfully received a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) through the Thai Embassy in London?

I'm trying to clarify a couple of things before submitting my application.

1. Financial requirements

The current Thai e-Visa application asks for financial evidence of at least 20,000 THB (approximately £445), with three months of bank statements. However, older embassy guidance states that METV applicants need £5,000 maintained for six months.

Can anyone who has recently obtained an METV through London confirm which requirement is actually being enforced?

And is it the final balance that matters, or does the required amount need to be maintained throughout the statement period?

2. Payoneer / Wise / Revolut

Has anyone successfully used statements from Payoneer, Wise, Revolut or similar online financial accounts as proof of funds for either an SETV or METV?

Were these statements accepted on their own, or was additional documentation required?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with recent firsthand experience applying through London.

Thanks in advance!
Answer summary
The financial requirements for a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) through the Thai Embassy in London are currently in question. Applicants have reported conflicting requirements: some claim a minimum of 20,000 THB (around £445) is needed with three months of bank statements, while others suggest that at least 200,000 THB should be maintained over three to six months. Recent applicants have successfully submitted various forms of proof, including statements from traditional banks as well as digital financial platforms like Payoneer and Wise, though several advised against using non-traditional banking sources. It appears that official bank statements are preferred, as screenshots are not accepted.

I e recently got the METV from London,

They only required a bank statement showing the last 14 days for me, PDF file not a screenshot.

Flights had to confirmed and again not a screenshot.

Same for a hotel booking etc. this was an issue for me as my hotel wasn’t. Confirmed as payment wasn’t taken until two days before I left.

I also sent a recent statement from my mobile supplier as proof of address.

I found the whole thing straight forward after you knew exactly what they required. I found things I initially vague as to what they wanted.

You forgot a zero the
*****
Thb is for a single entry visa, for the METV it is : Bank statements covering the last 3 to 6 months (depending IO, better show 6 months) showing sufficient funds—typically a minimum balance of 200,000 THB, so every month should show the amount . You cannot use Payoneer / Wise /

Ronny Liekens absolute rubbish. My bank statements were overdrawn for last 4 months and all they said was they needed 20,000 baht in the account at time of application. And that was for a 6 month multiple entry visa. I got it last week.

Neil Harding So just checked everything it seems that the Thai law request only the
*****
Thb, but that the individual embassies sometimes request higher amounts. So it are not only the Immigration officers that make additional requests , but also embassy workers can ask additional things

I applied. With 3 months of bank overdrawn statements but my inheritance was transferred across as final balance on statement and I got visa. I won't lie I did not expect to get it. I did try another way and they replied all they want is 20,000 baht in your bank at time of application

OP
Neil Harding and that was for the METV (up to 6 month visa)?

Mark Strudwick yes I got 6 month multiple entry visa. Well it's 5.5 months now as it starts on date issue. I fly out on Wednesday. I booked a cheap air Asia flight out of the country before the first 60 days runs out to show exit flight. I'm allowed one free date change on that so can extend it to do 60+30 days, go Cambodia for a week and then do another 60+30 days and then one more run just before visa runs out.

Neil Harding, the exact wording differs from Embassy to Embassy. In Copenhagen they accept screen dumps for METV og SETV, but it says 3 months of 20,000 THB. For most other visas they have recently changed it into "current amount" (not 3 months).

Henrik JN I was told by UK Thai embassy as long as your last statement shows 20,000 baht plus you are fine. And it was. I won't lie I did not think I'd get multiple visa being overdrawn so many times

Henrik JN I was overdrawn from every statement for last 3 months but I transferred £20,000 in my account from my inheritance as last statement and I got visa. I did not expect it because I had been -£3000 overdrawn for 3 Months.

I used an agency as well. They wanted 6 months bank statements. Not screenshots. Actual official bank statements.
