Is the Mae Sai border run doable on Sundays?
does someone knows if the mae sai border run is doable on sundays ? cant find any info that confirms iit anywhere. tia

ALL land borders are open EVERY DAY (most from 6am until 10pm). They do not close for holidays OR on weekends.

Both the border is open and the bus service (from either Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai) runs on Sundays. I have done it on Sunday myself before. If you are in Chiang Mai, Green Bus VIP is the one you want. 319B for a VIP seat, which I highly recommend. 4h40 on the bus. From Chiang Rai you can just go down the bus station and there are very frequent local buses running continually.

Borders are open all year around, they don't close in the weekend or on public holidays.

Something to do with International agreements. If you cross a land border you have to walk into the other country before you can come back.

it was indeed open. thanks for the answer it avoided me lot of hassle to do it today rather than tmw. do u know by any chance why is it necessary to actually stamp in in myanmar before stamping it back to thailand ? why one's cant just stamp out goes to the no mans land and directly stamp back in. i mean. what does it changr for thailand ? they re still able to refuse u if they wantRobert *******
