What are the best countries for applying for a DTV visa after being denied at the LA consulate?
Hey yall Anyone got any recommendations for best countries to apply for a dtv ? I got denied at the LA consulate apply with soft power muy thai 9 months class & meeting the 500k limit ,im a seasonal fisherman so my company flys me out when i pick up contracts whats the best route to take?

I applied in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. Took a while but no questions asked and visa approved

Would/do you qualify for visa exempt entry? There have been reports of offshore workers using visa exemption and Thai Immigration accepting this for regular exits/reentries. The difference is your work is seasonal as required, not regular repeated one month on one month off (for example).

nice , I may have to look into that. I’m a seasonal fisherman in the u.s , so I work 3-6 months straight sometimes even longer just depends on how many contracts i want to opt in for the year so i have extended time off between contracts. I hadn’t considered that as an option. Thanks for the information im definitely going to have to check that out too !James ********
That's a HUGE Surprise....as the Los Angeles Thai Consulate is VERY good for issuing the DTV visa...

i was a bit surprised myself also, because i did hear good things about the LA consulate before i applied but guess it was just my luck this time around ,ive built some really good cover letters with the help of ai to support my documents once i find the next country to fly out to apply in so next time it’ll hopefully be a better outcome

yeah next month august 1st will be going on 4 months but at the time it was all 3 months

I did it by myself and I recommend most people go down that route unless you've just got money to blow that you don't care about. There's so much information out on the internet to help you put together a really stellar application. Plus with the help of AI I don't see any reason to use a company unless you are just lazy. By saying that even if you use a company, they're still gonna request you to provide all the information needed for all the documents and take all the required actions before

nah i agree its alot of tools out here insteadof going to these companies ,im planning to apply by myself again also , but this time with a couple support letters added to my documentation that Ai helped me put together ,so i feel like im in a stronger position than before even tho i met the requirements ,which country did u apply for your dtv

they just told you the reason in the email. They said you don't meet the minimum financial requirements. It says it's not only 500K. But finances for the entire duration of your stay. For however many months or years you're intending to stay, You need to show financial resources for that time.

OPAnonymous participant 613also in the email they didnt say i aint meet the finance requirements,it said it didn’t guarantee i would get the visa for meeting the minimum requirements ,but they could’ve of ask me for a higher limit instead of asking for the minimum twice 🤷🏽♂️ask to see more if that’s the case

OPAnonymous participant 613 im a seasonal fisherman they requested for 500k bhat minimum i sent my statements showing 15.5k usd which is above the 500k with exchange rate right now and to last for them 175 days while getting other income coming in from other places , this is a soft power application not no workation if thats the case they should advise that , before making folks pay 400$ but ay it happens 🤷🏽♂️ill just fly out the country n try somewhere else but be more prepared to show more

In a similar situation. Vientiane has been suggested to me, but I’m also considering Manila since it’s easier travel-wise
