Currently, there are limited good border run options available from Kanchanaburi. The easiest method is to travel to an airport in Bangkok and take a flight out of the country and back in. Other alternatives would require a long drive to the nearest border.

There are no good options from Kanchanaburi. Easiest is probably getting to an airport in Bangkok and flying out and back in. Otherwise you're in for a very long drive to a border.

Brandon, is Myanmar border not close? I realise there's a civil war there at the moment

All land borders with Myanmar are closed to foreigners and have been for years. The only border that's available for a border bounce with Myanmar is Ranong and that's at least a 10 hour drive so.. plus it involves taking a boat to Myanmar.
