TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for Thai language schools that offer online courses, specifically looking to stay in the North, like Phangan, due to cost considerations. Several comments provide insights: it's noted that online courses generally do not qualify for an education (ED) visa, which requires in-person attendance. Some mention a promotional offer for a conversion to an education visa and suggest that while certain schools like Pro Language School and Banana Thai offer good programs, costs can vary significantly.

Mid way through Banana Thai online intensive course. Very good

Pro language school is decent, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for (in a good way)

Had just now an ad for a year's visa, ON THE FB timeline to study the Thai language at CM, which reads We can convert from a Tourist visa, Exemption visa to an Education visa for 12 months.

Promotion 29,000 baht, added lines were other expenses, the total fee is 48,000 baht, NOT cheap in my opinion, exactly my yearly rent here in Isaan at my present location - 2 hours study, twice a week was also mentioned

only other other option is to enroll into a university it's slightly cheaper but more class time but you're definitely right.

If you are asking just because you want to learn then that's fine.

But if you also expect to get a visa then it's not possible. An ED visa is granted so you can go to Thailand and study in person. If you just wanted to study online then you could stay home and study.

Also you must report to immigration every 90 days in the province the school is in to apply for an extension and they will also take your attendance records and quiz you in Thai language at the immigration office.

Yes I search for a Visa Option as well.

I heard some schools still offering this after they implemented it for Covid times. Going up there every 3 Month wouldn't be a Problem
