Recommendation for health insurance please.

I have started my application for Non O immigrant 90 day and I have started looking for Insurance. Anyone got some good recommendations and painless?
Answer summary
The discussion centers around recommendations for health insurance for those applying for a Non-O visa in Thailand. Although health insurance is not mandatory for the Non-O visa (unless applying via RTE Madrid), many participants share various insurance companies and brokers they found helpful. Suggestions include reaching out to specific brokers like Richard Yates from Health Cover Now, Macallan Insurance Brokers, and AA Insurance Brokers. Some members advise self-insuring, particularly if costs are high and coverage is minimal. It's suggested to compare providers to find the best value and coverage options.

AIA health insurance is recommended.

For Non-O there's normally no mandatory insurance for the visa, so it's up to you whichever way you want to cover the risk of serious illness or essential medical procedures.

If you're going to do it, make sure you cover yourself for expensive procedures... - a heart bypass in a reasonable grade private hospital outside Bangkok could cost ฿1.4 million +. (USD 43k+)... 2 weeks in an ICU room ฿200k ($5.8k). AI will probably give you a more comprehensive view, or go to the hospital websites.

We are on a Non-O. We are self insured since ALL policies only cover the bare minimum and are costly

getting insurance to satisfy a government mandate is like taking medicine that doesn't work when you need it. yes, you will be satisfying the government requirements by having insurance, but that does not mean the insurance will pay when you need it most. shop around and find a good public Private hospital and you will be shocked at how low the cost of seeing the doctor is in Thailand. take care of yourself. don't ride motorcycles or jump off tall buildings, keep all of your health vectors in their proper place and make sure you see the doctor when problems are small. the days in which you could act like you didn't care and expect other people to pay to get fixed up are gone!

Hi Marco,

I would reach out to Richard Yates from

. He’s the Health Insurance Broker we used. He was super helpful when I was looking for insurance last year, he will also breakdown the technical jargon and help simply the process.

Health Insurance policy usability depends on the verdict of the underwriter investigation of your medical history. The exclusion list of non-coverage for many will shock them, especially when the premium is so high and it’s possible only half of you is covered! The insurance companies don’t want to lose money. Many older expats go the ‘self-insured’ path when they see what their true coverage is, then decide if Company Plans is worth it.

Get Non-O Visa in order to be self insured.

Bernard Rouhaud there are many that are doing it since in many cases it doesn’t provide full coverage! I have to pay out if pocket my first year.

If I was in your situation, poor health, how did you even get insurance. Thai companies would have a long exclusions list for you!
