The E-visa is just an emailed copy? Nothing gets put in your passport?

Yeah, been over a year since I’ve been in the Kingdom.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The E-visa for Thailand is indeed sent as an emailed copy, which does not include a physical stamp in your passport. However, it is electronically recorded, and can be verified when scanned by passport control.
