Is SETV plus extension the best option for staying in Thailand for 150 days?

When applying for a SETV, but intending to stay for 150 days (5 months). Is SETV + extension + 2nd SETV the best option? And we have a return trip with 5 months in between, should we buy a onward ticket for after 60, or 90 days? Thanks:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering the best visa strategy for a 150-day stay in Thailand, specifically whether to use a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) followed by an extension and a second SETV. They also ask about the requirement for onward travel tickets in relation to their return trip.

What I am most concerned about is that on the ticket to Thailand, the return trip is also stated and this is later then when the visa will expire.

How about you call or email the consulate before you apply and ask them ?

They don't show that you need proof of onward travel on the single entry tourist visa just proof you have a confirmed ticket TO thailand..

You need to meet the requirements at the consulate you're buying the visa from. I'd say IF you are getting a single entry tourist visa from them, and they require proof of onward travel it'd be within 60-90 days.

and why not just apply for a 6 month METV from there?

Otherwise we would have applied for METV indeed.
